Had a so-so experience here. Melissa was very kind and welcoming each time I went in. She made a beautiful bustle and took in the sides of my dress which looked great. The disappointment comes from the fact that the dress was still too big on the bust when I picked it up and despite having my dress for at least 6 weeks, she stated she did not have time to work on it further. I had to take it somewhere else and pay a rush fee to get it taken in further.Also, I was given the dress to take home with the bustle up. When we took it down prior to taking it to get pressed, we found a HUGE stain across the back which was hidden when the bustle was up. Now my dress is at the dry cleaners two days before my wedding. This is a brand new dress so there is no reason for it to have a stain.

TLDR; I would not recommend Melissa because of how poorly she treated us as customers. It was such a bad experience all around and for your wedding dress, you want to make sure you are in the best hands, which this absolutely did not feel like.What was supposed to be a wonderful journey seeing my dress come to life and fit my body was unfortunately ruined by Melissa’s unprofessionalism. In multiple occasions, Melissa made snarky remarks to me and my sister, and I’ve noted 2 instances of that below. There’s a right and wrong way to approach handling feedback from a customer and time and time again, Melissa made us feel belittled and ignorant when we dare question her work.Below are 2 of multiple incidences that reflect my rating:1. Melissa and I initially agreed upon a ballroom bustle for my A-line dress that was tulle style. When we discussed the ballroom bustle, she told me it would only be a *few* ribbons to tie, and showed me the train being all folded under the bottom of dress to visualize it before me agreeing to the style. When I came for my first bustle fitting with my sister, I was surprised to see that she did a DIFFERENT BUSTLE - a french bustle where it was not “all folded under the dress”, that required 15 ribbons to be tied, and that she said I would need to take off the dress in order for it to be properly bustled on the day of the wedding; all of this completely contradicted our prior bustle appointment for an uncomplicated ballroom bustle. I’m not a confrontational person so it was hard for me to muster up the courage to tell her that she got the bustle wrong. When I did, she became hostile and said she would never make a mistake like this and get the bustle noted wrong… and yet she did. We agreed to a ballroom bustle and she will never admit to her error on this. I didn’t like the look of the French bustle and its complexity to deal with on my wedding day. So, we ended up going with an American bustle at the end of the second bustle appointment; that was primarily bc I didn’t know if I would get charged for the French bustle. Since Melissa vehemently stood her ground on saying she did the “correct” bustle, I needed to potentially cut costs down.2. When my sister and I came for the second bustle fitting, I thought it would be straightforward - an American bustle is supposed to be the easy bustle. And yet, we had a hard time getting the loops thru the buttons. There were 8 buttons and loops for each of the buttons were very, very small. As my sister and I struggled to get just one loop on the button, Melissa would boastfully show us how easy it was for her to do it. My sister confronted her for her condescending tone and she got more agitated and snarky, honestly giving me second hand embarrassment for how child-like it came across. When we asked her if the loops could be slightly bigger, she immediately cut us off, pushed back, and said that she would need to redo the whole bustle again because it would require her to raise the buttons higher on the dress. I was confused as to how making the loops bigger by a few millimeters would need such a drastic redo of the bustle. She explained that the back of the dress would not be level to the floor and that it would now drag by 1/4 of an inch. Once I realized how trivial that was, I said that was fine to keep the buttons where they were and increase the loop size. Melissa, your approach to handling requests comes across as you clearly being personally offended when receiving any criticism of your work. Instead of logically approaching a resolution, your initial reaction is to get defensive and overly complicate things where it is simply not warranted.In total, I paid $592 for my alterations here. That includes fitting around chest, hem and American bustle. I ultimately did not get charged for a bustle change, but I had to fight for that $90 charge to be removed. I could have gotten a better price and, equally important, a better experience elsewhere.
I had a terrific experience at Suite Bridal from start to finish. A friend had come for alteration only and had glowing reviews, so I figured I would use them for my alterations as well since I’d purchased the dress from them anyway.One of the best things I did for myself for the wedding. They are SO skilled and kind.

The team at Custom Bridal Modifications made me feel at home during my alterations. After purchasing my dress from their attached shop, I met with them three times while they perfected my dress. All the while, the team was quick, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented, while getting me in and out of my appointments within 30 minutes. They were also happy to help me choose a veil during an alterations session when my previously chosen veil didn't match my vision. As I did not bring any guests to my appointments, they guided me through it all. I cannot recommend them enough.

Melissa made me feel so safe and calm when I got in and I knew I was in the right hands. I told her their tagline should be safe & snatched! After such a few fittings, I was expecting a huge price tag for the service but nope, sooooo affordable. Truly could not and have not recommended a place more. I love them!!!
I was really blown away by my experience with Linette! First of all, I had a last minute formal event and wanted to spruce up a dress I already owned for it. I showed up unannounced, not realizing that it was by appointment only. I felt very silly when I realized this but Linette brought me in anyways. She took time to speak with me and even though I had no idea what I was looking for in my dress alteration I left feeling so excited about how my dress would look. I could not have been happier! I really appreciate her taking the time to help me because I don’t know what I would have done otherwise. Highly recommend!

A quick and easy experience! I came to Custom Bridal Modifications for alterations on my sample wedding gown. The alterations were quick and perfectly done. The staff is pleasant, easy to speak with, and helpful in every way. I was able to get my gown altered, a custom veil, and wedding day accessories all for a reasonable price. I originally came here for a quote, but was greeted by Melissa and was immediately drawn to her. Melissa and her team completely transformed my wedding dress. I call Melissa the "dress whisperer." She customized my dress to my body, and made changes that enhanced my figure. My dress is very detailed with beading and lace, but Melissa and team were still able to deliver! I recently got married and when I tell you that I said I’d be running to give all the stars to Melissa and the staff at custom bridal… I literally am.I honestly thought that shopping for a wedding dress would be a nightmare and the thought of having to get fitted was even worse, being so self conscious about my body and looks, but Melissa was absolutely amazing. I was pretty nervous to start my wedding dress shopping because I was very fixated on a particular style, even though I tried not to be so I could have more options within budget. After visiting other stores that didn’t have anything not even close to what I had in mind, I started to get a bit frustrated. Until I got to Suite Bridal! Darla understood exactly what I was looking for, to the point that the first dress that she suggested was The One. I got to try other gowns from their wide (and affordable!) assortment, but mainly just to confirm my decision, because she really nailed it suggesting that Stella York. I also had the opportunity to work with Melissa on the alterations. She did an amazing job adjusting the dress to fit perfectly and was very patient to answer all my questions and calm my concerns. I got the chance to feel like a princess on my wedding day thanks to this wonderful team. 100% recommended!

Melissa is a modification magician! From the start, our appointments were so efficient because Melissa knows her stuff better than anyone. At the same time, she was always checking in with me to make sure I understood and agreed with every step of the process. I especially want to thank Melissa for her empathy, effort, and expertise at our final appointment. A significant amount of work had already gone in to completely rebuild the bust of my dress (such impressive work!!). When I put the dress on, the shape of the bust appeared wrong to both of us. Melissa asked if we had some time to wait, and then only a few minutes later, she was back out with a beautiful fix. Even still, something seemed off with the way to top of the dress fit me. Melissa insisted she wanted to make it perfect for me, so she made some more shockingly fast and skilled updates that made my dress fit perfectly!
Went here because I got my dress from Suite Bridal. They were super professional and friendly. I got my wedding dress hemmed, changed the back to a corset, and got a bussel (the trail gets buttoned to the back so I don't drag it while at the reception)And with all that the price did not break my bank!
Melissa and her team are wonderful. I initially came in with very basic needs for my dress, a hem and a bustle. Everyone was lovely and professional, and the turnaround time was very quick. I picked up my dress a few weeks before the wedding and was very satisfied with everything. 5 days before my wedding I tried my dress on for my mom and decided I just wasn’t comfortable, I had lost some weight (stress, surely) and was suddenly super self-conscious about how the dress was fitting me. Melissa was very understanding and reassuring, and she and her team got me in and out in ~24 hours with a dress that fit like a dream. I will absolutely be recommending Melissa and the team at Custom Bridal Modifications to every bride I know!
I had my dress taken in and added a bustle here. They were so helpful and professional, definitely would recommend. Pricing initially made me nervous as this feel very "buckhead" and they didn't have transparent per service charges advertised, but they were careful to work within my budget and good about prioritizing the "must have" alterations. The alterations themselves are flawless- Melisssa is so talented and my dress fits like a dream now. I've no doubt they'd do a great job with more complex changes to a bridal gown!

Loved working with Melissa! Was recommended by 2 close friends whose wedding dresses she altered. She was so easy to schedule, would get you in & out quickly, and would combine appointments (w/ friends, mom for her dress, etc) as needed. My dress needed more alterations than anticipated and she kept it stored for an extra year due to Covid, and she never charged us more. And she's just great to be around and will keep you grounded through the sometimes stressful process!!
Melissa is AMAZING! I cannot thank her enough. My body type is a bit hard to dress and I was very nervous that my wedding dress wouldn't fit correctly no matter what we did to it. She was so comforting and reassuring from day one that we would get it right, and she absolutely came through on that promise. She made sure that every last detail was perfect so that I could feel confident and comfortable on my wedding day. I was also super nervous about pricing, and I felt that Melissa's pricing was completely reasonable- she had a lot of work to do and the price ended up being basically exactly what I would have expected it to be. Either way, I probably would have found a way to pay any amount for the sake of having such quality work done, and having it done by someone who was so kind and compassionate. You can tell that Melissa enjoys what she does, really wants to help you out, make you feel great on your big day, and is passionate about her work.
